Pass thru allows the independent workshop to access the car manufacturer's portal, which offers diagnostic capabilities and the ability to download up-to-date software for their cars' controllers. You can use it to update the software, for example, when replacing parts, or you can use the car manufacturer's servers as a form of diagnostics - reading the error code. In addition, you can gain access to repair procedures, technical data or wiring diagrams.
